Stornoway is a favourite destination for those sailing to the Outer Hebrides and exploring the islands by boat, Stornoway is the largest harbour in the Outer Hebrides. The port is well sheltered and easy to access at all states of the tide for vessels up to a maximum length of 24 metres and 3m draft in all weather conditions.

The 80-berth Inner Harbour marina provides a safe haven for island hoppers and day sailors. With brand new facilities, there is fresh water readily available on the pontoons along with shore power and Wi-Fi.

The Inner Marina lies right in the heart of the town centre, which provides ample opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of Lewis that makes it so unique today. As the major settlement in the islands Stornoway has all you would expect in a bustling coastal town. Transport links can take visitors to see the most iconic attractions and activities that gained this island the accolade of being voted Europe’s top island by Tripadvisor in 2014.

Newton Marina officially opened in May 2021 offering an additional 75 berths for vessels maximum length of 15 metres with available draft of 2.5 metres. This marina includes shore power and fresh water. Although our newest marina, the location of our Inner Harbour Marina is much more convenient for visitors, and therefore the Newton Marina is primarily for long stay vessels. Goat Island is not just where Newton Marina is but it is also home to Stornoway Port’s 100T boat hoist, having completed over 170 lifts in the year of 2023 it is proving a great addition to the Port.
